GENERAL
PRODUCT INFORMATION
The odor is not simply covered, but is eliminated. Bacteria and enzymes are as different as apples and oranges. A simple explanation of the two systems will make this clear. Enzymes
are composed of proteins that digest organic matter into smaller water
soluble materials. There are a number of enzyme combinations that make
up several of the pure enzyme products on the market today such as:
A check with their M.S.D.S. or similar literature may tell you what mixtures are used or if it is just a single enzyme. If a product which only contains enzymes is used in a maintenance program - the enzyme once dispersed goes to work on the offending matter as well as on itself. In other words, enzymes by their nature have a very short life expectancy and must be constantly re applied. Sea-Zyme, on the other hand, is a blend of enzymes and a blend of living bacteria. The bacteria are naturally occurring soil bacteria which have selected and cloned for their ability to produce specific and/or various enzymes when this mixture applied to waste material, the enzymes begin the initial job of breaking down the offending matter. In the meantime, the bacteria come out of dormancy and begin to continuously produce enzymes which greatly facilitate the overall digestion process. The breakdown products resulting from the initial enzyme attack are utilized by the bacteria as food, resulting in further digestion of the organic matter, the end result being C02 and water. Since the bacteria multiply, the amount of enzymes they produce increases with time. When the food supply is depleted they go into dormancy simply self destruct. Bacteria enzyme combinations tend to work until the job is done. Enzymes alone break down molecules only at a set rate which can be measured. If you add only a little enzyme, it will take a long time for digestion. If you add more, then the desired results will be faster. Bacteria enzyme combinations may be dealt with in a similar manner if one desires, but it is not necessary as the bacteria are multiplying and as such continually producing more enzymes again: until the job is done. The dry powder blend is for use in the black and grey water holding tanks, also for use in large common dumping and holding area tanks. Consideration has been given to the chemical adulterants that are released into various waste systems, Chemicals such. as phenols, formaldehyde, "quats" (quaternary ammonium compounds', and & chlorine bleach tend to be used in many common disinfectants to rid the system of odors. Please keep in mind that these products are poisonous to people and the environment and do nothing to eliminate the waste disposal problem, in fact, the disposal problem is accelerated when all these chemicals are transferred into a collection tank. In many states, these holding tank fluids are not waste treatment acceptable and as such city sewage treatment plants are declining acceptance.
Use a different drain for each application. Used properly, Sea-Zyme sets up a film, of bacteria and enzymes that prevents clogs from forming in the drain pipes. Sea-Zyme can be poured directly into the toilet and flushed into the septic tank. However, this method, will not prevent clogging in the drain pipes.
Paper Product Digestion: Sea-Zyme has blended into it a specific enzyme (cellulase) which increases paper digestion dramatically. With this system, the user may use any brand of toilet tissue they desire and not worry about paper clogging up the system. We have blended our product with paper products in mind. |
